Here's the newest addition to the Z. Alexander Brown Uncaged line up, a ripe, zesty Sauvignon Blanc. Known for his band and his music, Zac Brown is a creative spirit who has a passion for bringing music, food, and people together. The next logical step for him was to make wine. For this, his Uncaged series he teamed up with the resources of Delicato Family Wines and Napa Valley Winemaker John Killebrew, who grew up in California, developed a love for nature, gardening, cooking, and music at an early age. As a winemaker, John is able to stay immersed in nature. Working in partnership with Zac and accessing the Delicato's superb quality grapes he's able to create wines with true character and style that offer a lot for a little. For this Sauv Blanc over half of the grapes come from nearby Lake County, best known for a warm climate perfect for growing juicy, ripe Sauvignon Blanc; the remainder of the grapes are sourced from Napa Valley and Suisun Valley, a southern Napa neighbor, adding a cooler climate influence apparent in the citrus and lemon grass notes in the wine. They've also added a small amount of nectar-like aromatic Muscat Canelli from Napa Valley, offering a hint of tropical fruit on the palate.Tasting Panel Magazine scored this 93 points saying "Lemon verbena combines a citrus floral perfume for this lighthearted white. On the palate, tart, mineral-driven stone and lime notes ascend with a vibrant acidity. Building character up the lean and edgy staircase of flavors are underlying flavors of pineapple and mango. This is a food-worthy partner with a touch of salinity of the finish, reminiscent of a Sancerre. Oysters, anyone?"
