About Domaine Marc Antonin Blain 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet, Morgeots 1er Cru
Marc-Antonin is from a family of renowned Burgundy vintners. He now makes wines from vineyards previously tended by his late grandfather, Jacques Gagnard-Delagrange. and his parents Domaine is Blain-Gagnard. He is one of the most modest, but also talented, members of the emerging generation of Burgundy growers.
These vines where this wine was sourced recently joined the Domaine, a gift from Marc-Antonin’s parents. They lie in a sub-section of Morgeot called Champs Jendreau, just downhill from Clos de La Boudriotte. Not far from the village, they are planted on thin soil over limestone, giving a wine with tension and length. This is brilliant green-gold in colour, with slow-to-emerge, pure aromas and ample, richly intense fruitiness.
