About Fantini Brut NV Gran Cuvee Rose
The goal of the Fantini winery is to produce wines that are an excellent value and quality and can be enjoyed by all wine aficionados. The grapes for this sparkling rose are 100% Aglianico del Vulture Basilicata from vineyards located in Acerenza and Venosa South 1,640-2,625 feet above sea level. Grown on volcanic soils the 20-25 year old vines offer low yields and intense flavor.
After harvest, the grapes undergo delicate de-stemming and crushing before cold maceration for eight hours. Pressing, clarification and fermentation of clean must lasts for ten days. After three months of fining on the lees, secondary fermentation takes place in small steel tanks according to the Charmat method.The wine is aged in stainless steel and bottle
This lovely rose sparkler received 90 points, Excellent, Highly Recommended in the Ultimate Wine Challenge. They said "A rich copper salmon color in the glass, there are pleasing aromas of ripe red berries and citrus that waft easily from the glass. The palate is awash in smashed strawberries, blood orange, and juicy peach flavors. Vivacious, fine carbonation and a crisp finish."
