About Folie a Deux 2013 Merlot, Alexander Valley

We got away with one! He's a amazing library selection from Folie a Deux. 2013 was one of the greatest vintages of this decade and needless to say the wines simply not to be found. Well, we found one and it's terrific! Grapes for this Folie à Deux 2013 Merlot were hand-picked from a selection of prime vineyards in the cooler parts of Alexander Valley. 100% Merlot, following a 10-14 day maceration period, the lots were aged for 15 months in a combination of French American and Hungarian oak barrels.

Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 90 points when it was released saying "Lipstick cherry and vanilla provide a burst of red fruit succulence around a core of big oak and a leathery midpalate marked by dried sage. Drying tannins belabor the finish, before rediscovering its lovely, though bold, expression of fruit."

We managed to acquire a small cache of some of the bottles that had been carefully aging in the winery cellar and now this beautifully aged, remarkably fresh and complex Merlot can be yours at a fantastic price. Library Hijack! Don't Miss It!
