About J. Lohr 2016 Chardonnay, Arroyo Vista, Arroyo Seco
The Arroyo Vista Chardonnay is grown in the heart of the windswept and cool Arroyo Seco AVA of Monterey County, widely regarded as one of the best places in California to grow Chardonnay. This wine is 100% barrel fermented with weekly stirring of the lees. The wine is then aged sur lie for a total of 14 months in French oak barrels are 49% new from coopers François Frères, Marcel Cadet, Tonnellerie O, Dargaud et Jaegle, Le Grand and Mercurey.
Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 92 points saying "Tight-grained oak aromas meet with lemon rind, lime blossom and a touch of smoke on the nose of this bottling. The savory palate is reminiscent of smoked chicken in a lemony herb sauce, dusted with sea salt and framed with a solid structure and acidic verve."
