    About The Gr8 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley

    Long time industry veteran Marc Newman arrived in Washington's Red Mountain region with the hopes of creating his own line of premium wines under his Fam Vin label. By hopping vineyard fences, networking with winemakers and vineyard managers, Marc began sourcing small lots of the areas best fruit from the very best vineyards. This wine is his entry level Cab. The grapes come from Columbia and Yakima Valley vineyards including; Arete Vineyard (Columbia Valley), Black RockVineyard (Yakima Valley), Caroway Vineyard (Columbia Valley), Crawford Vineyard (Yakima Valley) and Sagemoor Vineyard (Columbia Valley). Marc tapped talented young winemaker Megan Hughes from the Bernard Griffin winery to vint this sleek Cab. Fermentation was in temperature controlled tanks with pumpovers two times daily. The wine then aged in  old and new European oak barrels. The wine shows dark fruit, black cherry and toasty spice notes. On the palate it's balanced with mouthwatering acidity to keeping the black cherry, black currant flavors fresh and focused. Hints of cinnamon and cooking spice add depth and dimension. A solid value!
