About Trinchero 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Mario's, Napa Valley

Mario's Cabernet Sauvignon is a tribute to Mario Trinchero, who came to the Napa Valley with his family in 1948 to realize the American dream. It is sourced from two estate vineyards situated on benchland soil in the heart of Napa Valley. Mario's Vineyard, a 13-acre vineyard surrounding the winery and the Central Park West Vineyard, a 22-acre vineyard with loamy soils and good sun exposure both in St. Helena. 2012 was an outstanding vintage and this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was aged 18 months in 75% new French oak barrels. Wine Spectator scored this 91 points saying "A rich, sturdy, muscular style, with plenty of finesse and refinement. Offers a dark fruit core, with spice, cedar, dusty herb and earth notes. Taut tannins add to the texture and mouthfeel. Drink now through 2028."
