About Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano Riserva 2010 Vigneto Santa Pia, La Braccesca, Antinori

Now owned by the Antinori family, the La Braccesca farm is over 1,000 acres and approximately one quarter is vineyards in the appellation's finest sub-zones for the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Santa Pia Vineyard is one of the best. Just 36 acres, the vineyard grows the Prugnolo Gentile clone of Sangiovese that is most expressive of this region's terroir. A slow maceration was followed by 14 months of aging in French and Hungarian oak barrels. Antonio Galloni scored this 92 points saying "A beautifully focused wine, the 2010 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Vigneto Santa Pia jumps from the glass with plum, black cherry, raspberry jam slate, graphite and lavender. The superior quality of the vintage comes through in spades in this articulate, resonant Vino Nobile from Antinori."
