The Clos Gaensbroennel is seven prestigious acres in the Grand Cru Kirchberg de Barr. The geology of this Clos is marl-limestone, a heavier soil, more difficult to cultivate but perfectly suited to the Gewurztraminer grape. South-east sun exposure, the vines are on slopes, high up (825 feet). This amazing terroir gives the wine refined minerality and complexity and a between 10 and 20-year aging potential.
Pale yellow with yellow gold sparkles. Complex and intense nose, floral and spicy at the same time. It has weight as well as sweetness, but it’s the potential and ageability that are so impressive. Spice and gingerbread notes, as well as fine acidity, lend complexity to the honeyed, yellow fruits.
