About Barolo 2007 Vigne D'Vai, Ca Brusa

Here's an eleven year old single vineyard Barolo. 100% Nebbiolo from 30 year old vines grown in the Vai vineyard in Monforte D'Alba. Vinification is traditional with a 20 to 25 day long maceration with daily pumping of the must over the cap. The resulting wine is aged for 15 months in barrique followed by 10 months in botti and an additional 18 months in the bottle before release. This lot of 2007 (a vintage rated 95 by both Parker and the Wine Spectator) has been aging gently in the winery's cellars and was only recently imported. The wine shows all of the complexity, power and nunance that you'd expect from properly aged Barolo. The nose brings roses, cherry, cedar bark and marzipan. On the palate it's bold with nuances of flavor; cherry, roasted almonds, anise truffles and tobacco with silky, seamless quality and long finish. A steal at this price. Very Limited!!
