Here's a winery that you may only know if you are a long time WIne Express Customer… Belle Fiore! All of Belle Fiore's grapes are grown on their estate vineyards in just these conditions. Planted in 2007 their hillside vineyards have matured beautifully and are turning out world class fruit.
This 100% estate grown Pinot is a perfect blend of 667, 777, Pommard and 115 clones... the same as is used for some of the best Pinots in the world! The wine is aged for 18 months in 100% oak barrels, 12% of which are new. And there were only 8 Barrels even produced of this delicious Pinot!
The nose is filled with intense red cherry, strawberry, raspberry and just a hint of persimmon. That strawberry hits you first on the palate giving way to dusty logan berries, black pepper spice and savory notes on the mid palate. The well integrated oak shows up on the finish with a bit of smoke and clove leading to a long, mellow and fruit filled finish.
