Here's something unique from the Wagner Family. A lively Belle Glos rose produced entirely from Pinot Noir. Oeil De Perdrix means "eye of the partridge" in French and it's the term they use for these pale-copper colored rose wines. The grapes are grown in their vineyards in Sonoma with the specific purpose of producing a ripe and vibrant rose. To make this wine it requires a deft hand to press the juice quickly once it reaches the desired level of color. The juice is fermented partially in French oak barrels, which adds enough rich texture and light spice to beautifully complement the generous fruit-filled flavors. Citrus and strawberry aromas carry through to the palate with bright acidity and hints of pink grapefruit and lemon zest. Mineral nuances and a balanced richness fill the mid-palate and lead to a long-lasting finish. Sip it on its own or pair it with rich foods. Limited.
