Bergström Wines is more than a winery; it is a testament to the enduring dreams and hard work of the Bergström family. At the helm of this legacy are Josh and Caroline Bergström, the driving force behind our business. Their family business finds its roots in the remarkable journey of Josh’s father, John Bergström, who left his Swedish homeland as a young teenager to pursue the American dream.
La Spirale means the vortex; a symbol of life, creation, and the natural formative forces that guide our hands in our agricultural and winemaking pursuits at Bergström Wines. It is also the name of our newest estate vineyard on the Ribbon Ridge AVA, just a stone’s throw from our Le Pré du Col Vineyard and within eyesight of the winery on the Chehalem Mountains AVA. This complex and beautifully positioned Southwest facing 22-acre rolling slope includes more than 14 different marine sedimentary soil expressions. Planted by the Redman family and purchased in 2018.
Josh Bergström's Notes
A pale, white-gold color. Explosive aromas of stone fruits like peach and apricot. Supporting aromas of lemon rind, marmalade, lime blossom, and a briny, oyster-like salinity follow. At once, both mineral-driven and succulent. On the palate, there is electricity and vibrance with mouthwatering citrus flavors like lemon and grapefruit. There is also pear and a delicate touch of pastry crust and vanilla bean. Young and tensile with a great floral expression. A brilliant future will be revealed. Drink Now – 2030+.

The La Spirale Vineyard was planted by the Redmond family in 2006 and is surrounded by a pine forest which gives it a bit less sun and a delicate nature to the wine. Displaying a medium lemon core with a silvery rim, the nose pops with aromas of white flower, flint, and white nectarine. The palate gives a bit more richness than the nose, with flavors of ripe red pear, white tea, and blanched almonds. The acidity is aggressive but it doesn’t detract from this phenomenal wine and its wonderful fruit-forward finish. Just 50 cases made.
