About Bodega Norton 2018 Privada Red Blend, Mendoza
Originally reserved for the family’s private cellar, this exclusive high-end blend is a result of a request by the Swarovski family to create the best wine to enjoy among their friends. Its grapes come from the winery´s oldest vineyards, between 50 and 90 years old. A truly unique wine, it is a special selection of the best barrels of Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which results in a harmonious, complex and elegant blend. Aged 16 months in new French oak barrels.
James Suckling scored this 93 points saying "This has a rich, polished nose of blackcurrant, stewed blackberry, licorice and mocha. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, ripe tannins. Ripe and concentrated with gorgeous depth and smoothness. 40% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. Drink from 2022."
Wine Spectator scored this 90 points saying "Direct and fresh-tasting, this red is dominated by dried cherry and berry flavors that are backed by crisp acidity, with dried, leafy accents midpalate that extend on the moderately tannic finish. Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now through 2024."
