About Bodegas Fernandez de Pierola 2016 Crianza, Rioja
Bodegas Fernández de Piérola was founded in 1996 , with the aim of producing quality wines endowed with personality. They launched a small, family-run winery , starting from the family vineyards located in Moreda (Rioja Alavesa), an area with a long winegrowing tradition.
In 2009, they decided to develop two new projects to offer a broader range of wines , following the original philosophy that inspired the birth of Bodegas Fernández de Piérola, quality and typicality.
It comes from selected plots, located in Rioja Alavesa and planted at altitudes greater than 450 meters. The average age of these vineyards is more than 40 years. Single-varietal Tempranillo wine, aged for 18 months in American and French oak barrels. Finally it rests in the cellar, refining in the bottle for at least another 18 months.
Cherry red color, hints of red fruits, spices, balsamic and with a delicate roasted perfume. In its finish in the mouth, aromas of black pepper and notes of coconut and vanilla stand out.
