Brewer-Clifton is a small winery in Santa Barbara whose wines have received immense praise and recognition. Their wines are all produced from 100% estate vineyards like this Chardonnay. The grapes are sourced from their three vineyards; 3D, Machado and Acin. Grapes are whole cluster pressed they do not promote or prohibit malolatic fermentation, allowing wine to be in balance, bright and elegant. Aging is only neutral Sirugue French oak barrels are used for 12-18 months. Jeb Dunnuck scored this wine 95 points saying "The 2015 Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills checks in as a blend of the 3D, Acin and Machado Vineyards, and it's brought up identically to the single vineyards. In addition, there's really no barrel selection made, so don't think of this cuvee as a second wine." and Wine Spectator scored it 92 saying "Refined and powerful, with concentrated flavors of green apple, ripe citrus and mineral that are deftly supported by fresh acidity. Hints of dried savory herbs show on the finish. Drink now through 2022."
