About Brunello di Montalcino 2011 Renieri

The Renieri estate is located in the southern part of Montalcino on high altitude slopes. Owner/Winemaker Marco Bacci puts intense focus on his vineyards to produce the best possible fruit. His 70 acres of vines face southeast to southwest at around 1,200 above sea level. These high altitude vines are planted in uniquely diverse, iron-rich soil that's rare for this region. High density plantings are utilized to create extremely low yields. This wine scored 93 from the Wine Spectator who said "Tightly wound, this Brunello is packed with cherry, strawberry, floral and minerally flavors. Well made, with ripeness midpalate and a lingering, succulent finish. Best from 2018 through 2029." and 94 from James Suckling who said " ripe, rich red with dried-berry, blackberry and chocolate aromas and flavors. Full body, round tannins and a savory finish. Excellent line of fresh acidity. Focused. Drink or hold."
