The Renieri estate is located in the southern part of Montalcino on high altitude slopes. Owner/Winemaker Marco Bacci puts intense focus on his vineyards to produce the best possible fruit. His 70 acres of vines face southeast to southwest at around 1,200 above sea level. These high altitude vines are planted in uniquely diverse, iron-rich soil that's rare for this region. High density plantings are utilized to create extremely low yields. His 2010 Riserva Brunello garnered a perfect 100 point score. This wine came very close to that mark with a stellar 98 point rating from James Suckling who said "Spectacular aromas of dark fruits such as cherries with undertones of peaches and orange peel and some floral character, too. Full body, layered and rich. Lightly chewy tannins. Incredibly long and flavorful. Makes you want to drink it now but it will age beautifully." On Sale!
