In a fairly short amount of time Fattoria La Lecciaia has become one of the most consistent producers of Brunello di Montalcino. Following traditions but using modern methods they make estate Brunello from their 36 acres of Sangiovese Grosso vines. 2010 was an outstanding vintage and a limited quantity selected from the best lots was selected for this rich, intense Riserva. Aged an additional 2 years as proscribed by the DOCG, it received rave reviews including 93 points from James Suckling who said "Plum and orange peel with hints of milky chocolate follow through to a full body, silky palate. Typical outstanding Brunello 2010 riserva. Drink or hold." and 92 from Wine Enthusiast Magazine who said. "Dark-skinned berry, menthol toast and tilled soil aromas come together in the glass. Full-bodied, ripe, velvety tannins underscore flavors of mature black cherry, licorice, tobacco and clove. Drink 20182028."
