About Cavalli Tenuta Degli Dei 2018 Toscana IGT
The bond between Tommaso Cavalli and his land has its origins in a true passion which has taken shape in the form of the estate owned by the family since the early seventies, Tenuta degli Dei, to which Tommaso and his father Roberto (yes, the world famous designer) have devoted thirty years of intensive work. The estate is located in the village of San Leolino, near Panzano in Chianti. Tenuta Degli Dei embodies the Cavalli family’s lifelong commitment to farming, wine-making and horse-breeding, the symbols of Tuscany in the world.
The blend is composed of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Petit Verdot and 15% Cabernet Franc. It spends 18 months in oak, some new, and then aged in bottle for an additional 18 months. We were blown away by the sheer quality here, and how well this wine has aged over the past decade... and we knew our Tuscan wine

The 2018 Tenuta Degli Dei is dense, juicy and wonderfully inviting. Silky tannins wrap around a core of inky dark fruit, chocolate, spice, lavender and new leather. In the glass, the 2018 is intensely aromatic and layered, with exceptional balance and tons of character. Here, too, the wine's overall sense of harmony can only be described as exquisite. -- Antonio Galloni

Gorgeous blackberries and blueberries on the nose with some walnut, bark and black mushroom. Medium-bodied with firm, polished tannins and a fresh finish. Nicely reserved. Pretty mouth feel.
