About Chateau La Jamade 2019 Cotes de Bourg
Outstanding value Bordeaux, Chateau La Jamade is located on an elevated plateau on the Right Bank. It's one of several properties owned by a family with a long history in the region. Soils are clay-limestone and clay-silt and the vineyard is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Considered one of the finest properties in the Cotes de Bourg, this wine from the 2019 vintage is a prime example of the quality.
Fermentation is in tradition cement tanks with temperature control. Maceration lasts 7-10 days and the wine aged in tank on the lees.
Wine Enthusiast saw the potential of this gem and scored it 91 points noting "Tannins and black-currant fruits mingle in this blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The structure and succulent fruits are still young and the wine needs to age. Drink from 2023." This of course will drink beautifully well beyond 2023 for at least a decade.
