About Chateau La Nerthe 2019 Chateauneuf-du-Pape

One of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s oldest estates, archives affirm Château La Nerthe’s existence as early as 1560 and suggest an even more distant past dating to the dawn of the region’s wine culture in the 12th century. An Iconic producer whose wines are considered a benchmark with each vintage released.

This wine from the stunning 2019 vintage is a blend of 40% Grenache Noir, 35% Syrah, 18% Mourvèdre and 7% Cinsault aged 12 months 50% in small French oak barrels and 50% large French oak casks.

James Suckling scored this 92 points saying "A very rich and expansive Chateauneuf with a slew of subtle spicy and underbrush notes. Ample, powdery tannins support all this very well and give the long finish a pleasantly dry profile. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold."
