Château Minuty is the global leader in Cotes de Provence rosé, and beyond that it can be argued is the most important estate in the history of Provence rosé. The family owned estate has been, since its founding, one of the quality leaders for the region. Minuty then became one of the most visible producers in the second half of the 20th century, a result of quality production and commercial foresight when no one in the region could imagine the global phenomenon Provence rosé would become. And then in the last two decades, Minuty defined the vision for and led the unbelievable growth in Provence rosé around the globe.
For a Minuty wine, it all starts in the vineyard, in a preserved environment. The vines are cultivated using sustainable methods, without weedkillers or pesticides. This environment, bordered by a protected wooded area, guarantees a privileged ecosystem.
The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure the integrity of the grapes. The bunches arrive intact and go through the destemmer. After a light crushing, the grapes are immediately cooled to a low temperature and inerted to avoid any oxidation. The juices are then passed through presses where they are carefully drained and then pressed at low pressure to extract their full expression.
After a long fermentation at low temperature to express all the aromatic potential, the wine is racked and then gradually decanted during the winter period. It is then the period of blending where the characteristics of the vintage and the grape varieties are combined to produce their various cuvées. This 2023 is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Cinsault and 10% Syrah.
Minuty M is pure Pleasure, pure Provence and pure Minuty in a bottle. Pure Pleasure because of its natural and easy-going vibe. Pure Provence because of its selection of grapes from all the Designation’s terroirs, from the seafront to the hinterland and Sainte-Victoire. Pure Provence because of the bottle design that was updated in 2014 but invented and designed in the 60s by Monique Farnet, Jean-Etienne and François Matton’s mother. The entire region made the revolutionary bottle shape their own which goes to show how the Matton-Farnet family has always set the benchmark for Provence wine. Last but not least, Pure Minuty because it embodies the winery’s style with intense aromas paired with light flavors.
Some notes from the winemaker include "Notes of red fruit dominate the nose. The palate is greedy and round, with crunchy fruit. A slight sweetness tempers its liveliness. An introduction to the expression of Provence rosé."
