About Chateau Puyanche 2019 Arbo Francs Cotes de Bordeaux
Bernadette and Joseph ARBO have been developing the estate since 1998. Today it has a surface area of 51 hectares divided up into two appellations: Francs cotes de Bordeaux with 38 hectares devoted to the production of red wine and 3 hectares which are set aside for the production of white wine; Castillon cotes de Bordeaux , 10 hectares have been developed for the production of red wine. The capacity of the storehouse constructed in 1996 was insufficient for their increased wine production and another storehouse was constructed to be ready for the grape harvest of 2011. This expansion gave them the opportunity to modernize all their equipment.
The soils in this Francs Cote de Bordeaux vineyard are composed of limestone and clay where the 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon are grown for this blend. Sustainable agricultural practices are used in the vineyard, with hand selection of grapes before the are brought into the press house. The grapes see maceration before fermentation for up 3 to 4 weeks in stainless steel tanks, and then see aging in tanks for another 18 months.
