The micro-climate seems to be ideal to bring out the best expression and nuance in this warm climate, bold red varietal. What's so exciting about this wine is that it brings all of the robust, smoky character and style at a price that seems too good to be true. The grapes are sourced primarily from the prime Wahluke Slope district, where low yields bring concentrated flavors. The wine aged for 14 months in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels.
