    About Decoy by Duckhorn 2015 Red Blend, Sonoma County

    For years Duckhorn Vineyards produced a Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend under the Decoy label, and Duckhorn fans have been able to enjoy Duckhorn quality at a great price. Now that Decoy by Duckhorn has really taken off as a super value Sonoma brand, the Red Blend comes from different vineyards but displays the same quality and value as the original. This 2015 is a perfect example. A blend of 63% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot aged in 100% French oak. The wine is rich and concentrated and displays alluring layers of blackberry and ripe cherry, along with hints of spearmint and caramel. On the palate, the voluptuous fruit flavors are underscored by plush tannins that carry the wine to a long, silky finish. Another winner from Duckhorn!
