For
years now Duckhorn Vineyards has produced a Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
under the Decoy label, and Duckhorn fans have been able to enjoy
Duckhorn quality at a great price. Because Duckhorn has access to the
best growers and the finest quality fruit in the region they've expanded
the Decoy line to include varietal wines. This is their 2016 Pinot Noir
that they've sourced from prime vineyards in Russian River Valley,
Sonoma Coast and Carneros. Each lot was vinified separately and the wine
was aged for 8 months in French oak barrels, 25% new. It shows
distinctive Pinot character with notes of black cherry, strawberry,
cranberry and cola on a beautifully balanced and vibrant framework.
Hints of vanilla and spice linger on the finish. Duckhorn does it again!
