500ml The Iconic and esteemed dessert wine, Tokaji Aszu over the centuries has satisfied the sweet tooths of Tsars, Emperors and Kings. Disznoko is an historic estate, declared first class in the 1772 classification. In 1992 it was purchased by a French winery group that owns several Classified Bordeaux Chateaux. It's now a state of the art wine making facility with some of the best vineyards in Eastern Europe. This wine is made from 60% Furmint, 30% Harslevelu and 10% Zeta. The aszu grapes (affected by noble rot and shriveled on the vine) are collected manually one by one over the course of several vineyard passes in a total of 5 wooden hods and poured into a vat of must wine, according to the method established in the 17th century. After a maceration of several hours, the collected liquid is racked into barrels where it ferments slowly before being aged 2 years in oak barrels.
Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 95 points saying "Straw-colored with gold reflections, this wine offers aromas of apricot, peach and pear. In the mouth, flavors include honeycomb, Bartlett pear and canned peaches. It finishes with sweetness that is balanced by the ample acidity."
