The Domaine Arnoux Pere & Fils has produced oustanding wines for many generations. Today the Domaine covers more than 48 acres, all in the Cote de Beaune. The Domaine practices sustainable winegrowing to insure finest quality from vineyard to bottle.
This wine is from the Grand Cru Corton vineyard. The Domaine owns 3/4 of an acre in the Le Rognet section. Exposure is south-east/south-west and this hillside has a reddish pebbly soil, derived from brown limestone and rich deposits of marl, ideal for Pinot Noir. The vines average 30 years of age.
The grapes are hand harvested and then sorted at the winery. Fermentation is over 3 to 4 weeks in temperature controlled tanks. The wine ages for 12 months in oak barrels and then 6 months in large oak casks before bottling. Only 135 cases were produced.
Wine Spectator scored this 94 points saying "This is pure and elegant, sporting cherry and raspberry flavors, with a touch of blood orange. Firm tannins and vivid acidity lend support. Fine length. Deceptively open, yet built for the long haul. Best from 2022 through 2042."
Wine Enthusiast Magazine awarded this a "Cellar Selection" and scored it 94 points saying "This domaine, based in Chorey-les-Beaune, has a small parcel of vines on the dramatic Corton hill. The grapes produced a wine that is full bodied, rich, firm with tannins and generous with fruitiness. Tannins from wood aging and the fruit both promise an excellent future. This wine will be ready from 2024."
