10 year perfectly aged Chateauneuf, ready to enjoy and Only Here!
An incredible find, 10 year old Chateauneuf aged to perfection! In the 20th century, alongside Baron le Roy, Henry Tacussel was one of the founders of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.
The current estate, founded in 1976 by Annette Tacussel and her husband Robert Moulin, is passed down to their three daughters and is operated by Didier Latour, the cellar master. The estate carries on the legacy of Henry and his son Albert Tacussel. Since the reputation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape is well established, the Domaine Moulin-Tacussel has been able to enrich tradition with cultivation methods that respect the environment.
The dominant soil is clay-limestone and galets roulés and the vines are an average of 40 years old. The grapes are left whole cluster and co-fermented in concrete tanks with daily rémontage, and délestage. Puchdowns are performed as needed. The wines is aged 60/40 in concrete tank and barrels (50% new) for 12 months before bottling.
2013 was a very fine vintage in the Southern Rhone and this wine has been aging gently to reach a peak of enjoyment and drinkability. 60% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and other varieties. Less than 700 cases were produced.
Jeb Dunnuck said about this wine "The 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape is a solid wine from this estate that gives up lots of garrigue, white pepper, underbrush, and sweet cherry and currant-styled fruit. It’s medium to full-bodied, easy drinking and loaded with character..." Grab it now at this special sale price before it's gone!
