About Domaine Gros-Tollot 2018 L'O de la Vie, Syrah, Minervois
Anne Gros and Jean-Paul Tollot, both fifth-generation winemakers in their respective domains in Vosne-Romanée and Chorey-les-Beaune in Burgundy, joined their expertise in 2008 to serve the Terroirs de Cazelles in Haut Languedoc Regional Nature Park. Their domain is comprised of 38 acres of vineyards in 6 different sub-appelations. This wine comes from a known vineyard called L’O de La Vie in the Minervois AOC.
100% Syrah grown on the slope in the clay-limestone soils. Grapes were destemmed and fermented in open top steel tanks. It was aged 30% in barrels and 70% in stainless steel.
There is a purity of the varietal associated with this beautiful argilo-calcareous plot, unveiling an elegant personality. This is a balanced wine, precise and thirst quenching, which goes well with roasted meats and charcuterie. It vibrates in its flesh and in its slightly spiced black fruit. To drink over a period of 5 to 7 years.
