Bill Easton crafts wines from varietals that have traditionally worked the best in Amador County and the Sierra Foothills: ancient and old-vine Zinfandel.
This 2015 Amador County Zinfandel is made from grapes that grow on the beautiful, rolling mountain sites that have the classic, vermilion-colored, Amador decomposed granite soil. The 2015 was aged 10 months in French oak barrels. Bill Easton also makes wines under his Terre Rouge label, one of which just received a 100 point score from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
This wine was #45 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 for 2019. A "Smart Buy" they scored it 92 points saying "This epitomizes fine Sierra Foothills Zinfandel, offering vibrant, briary raspberry, smoked pepper and wild sweet anise flavors that stretch out on the zesty finish. Drink now through 2023."
A Wine Enthusiast Magazine "Editors' Choice", they scored it 91 points saying "A velvety texture and extremely concentrated black-fruit flavors make this full-bodied wine delicious to savor. It has beautiful big tannins that are well integrated, luxurious blackberry, sage and cedar flavors, plus great length on the finish."
