Carpineto takes its name from the Greek, carpos, meaning fruit. Founded in 1967 Carpineto quickly developed an international, award-winning reputation for consistently elegant wines. Carpineto began by producing a world-class Chianti Classico, and has expanded to include three additional properties in Tuscany's most prestigious appellations Montepulciano, Montalcino, and San Gimignano with over 1,000 acres of land under vine. This Super Tuscan is one of their best. Grapes for Farnito Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced from their hillside vineyards in Montalcino and in Chianti Classico. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented in stainless steel and then aged 12 months in French and American oak barrels. The wine is then bottle aged for an additional 8 months letting the flavors mesh and the tannins soften.
