Forstreiter 2018 Gruner Veltliner, Alte Raben

The Forstreiter family, owners of Meinhard Forstreiter have been making wine since the late 1800's. With winemaking in their blood they have brought their current property to an exceptional level of quality. The vineyard is situated in Krems-Hollenburg in the Kremstal, along the right bank of the Danube River, across from the Wachau, an ideal micro-climate for Gruner Veltliner. For this Alte Raben the grapes are hand harvested and whole cluster pressed. After fermentation the wine ages two weeks on the fine lees. It shows Refreshing acidity, finely structured, pears and passion fruit flavors mingle with the classic note of white pepper. Concentrated and full with a good lengthy finish.
