Forward Kidd 2013 Red Blend, Merryvale, Napa Valley

Here's a delicious red blend from Merryvale. Named for a soil type unique to the Napa Valley, Forward Kidd is a modern and expressive red blend featuring grape varieties that flourish in the diverse Napa terrior. Napa Valley is home to over 100 soil variations and elevations from sea level to 2,600 feet. Combining lots from select vineyard sources around the valley creates a wine of great depth and character. It's a lush blend of 52% Petite Sirah, 13% Malbec, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Syrah, 8% Petite Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc sourced from select vineyards around Napa Valley. The wine aged  22 months in 35% new French oak. The Wine Advocate scored this 90 points saying "The 2013 Proprietary Red Blend Forward Kidd is what hedonism is all about - a sexy, luscious, exuberant display of blue and black fruits, soft tannins, low acidity and a nice plump mouthfeel.
