Director Francis Coppola continues to celebrate the uncompromising standards of great art and great wine. When he opened his Sonoma estate the Director's series was created to showcase the quality and diversity of Sonoma County wines. This Pinot Noir is sourced from select vineyards in Sonoma County. The character and quality of Pinot from both is this region is always outstanding.
Grapes are harvested in the early morning so the fruit retains its vibrancy as it's placed into open-top fermenters. Daily punch downs of the must gently extract the color and flavors as fermentation progresses. The wine was aged for 9 months in 88% French and 12% Hungarian oak barrels.

It shows a fragrant nose of raspberry, blood orange, anise, and tea leaves. Medium-bodied and velvety in texture, vibrant flavors of cherries, plums, spice cake, and earthy seasoned woods are embellished by a kiss of lavender. With tannins smooth and subtle, this wine finishes brightly.
