About Geodesy 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sage Ridge Vyd., Napa Valley
Judy Jordan created the Geodesy brand of Napa Bordeaux blends. They are extraordinary wines and, importantly, wines with a purpose. All profits go to Judy’s charity that supports women in the agricultural workforce. She selected none other than Megan Baccitich as the winemaker for this passion project!
Megan’s pedigree includes multiple 100‐point scores as she served as Director of Winemaking for a Paul Hobbs Winery for a decade. As one of Paul’s protégées, she honed her winemaking approach and crafted many highly sought‐after wines that were favorites with critics and customers alike.
This 2019 Cab (88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc,
4% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec) was hand harvested at night, hand sorted and gently processed to ensure whole berries were fed into closed top tanks. A 7 day cold soak was followed by native yeast fermentation, the wine then aged 20 months in 100% French oak barrels and was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Winemaker Tasting Notes:
Dark garnet in color with blue undertones. Aromas of dark cherry and dried flowers. Fine grained tannins frame a rich and dense palate with great acidity. A delicious juiciness on the palate gives way to a lingering finish.
The previous vintage received a 95 Pt Rating from Wine Enthusiast, and who knows how high the rating will be on this 2019 if and when it gets reviewed!
