The estate was created in 1925 by Pierre Gelin. Stéphen Gelin took over its management in 1969 and was then succeeded by Pierre-Emmanuel, his son. Pierre Emmanuel pays special attention to the cultivation method: the vines are cultivated in an environmentally-friendly manner and the farming is organic.
The Pinot Noir grapes for this Premier Cru are sourced from their plot with mature vines averaging 45 years of age. Harvested in perfect health and vatted for 15 days with pigeage twice a day. The wine aged for 22 months in oak barrels.
Wine Spectator scored this 91 points saying "Shows plenty of cherry and pomegranate flavors, along with a racy structure that defines the berry, spice and mineral notes. Stays firm on the finish but should settle down with time."
