High Hook Wine is all about the true fruit quality of the grapes and the subtle mineral and other earthy qualities of the soil. Fruit, terroir, vintage. The truth.
Fish Hook/High Hook Vineyards was founded with three basic goals. First, they wanted to make really good wine that shows the true fruit character of the grapes and the subtle mineral and other earthy qualities of the vineyard. Second, they thought it would be a good idea to make just a little bit of money to support their bad habits (fishing) and have some fun doing it. And third,they wanted to do some good with some of the profits and tie it all in with their passion for fishing and the sea. Hence, Fish Hook Vineyards, High Hook Wines, the Striper on the label and their involvement with several environmental and charitable organizations.
Their Pinot Blanc is made specifically to be a great match with seafood and shellfish. It’s mostly stainless steel-fermented with just enough barrel-aged wine to broaden the mid palate a bit and achieve a perfect balance. All of the barrels are used, so there are no oak aromas or flavors evident in the wine. It’s all about fruit and minerals and great acidity.
