Lodi, California is the unofficial “Zinfandel Capital of the World"! Lodi vineyards produce about 40 percent of the premium Zinfandel in California and there are many old growth Zinfandel vines in Lodi dating back to the 1880s and early 1900s. The Lodi Appellation has a classic Mediterranean climate featuring warm days and cool evenings. Situated 100 miles directly east of the San Francisco Bay at the edge of the San Joaquin/Sacramento River Delta, cool “delta breezes” provide the region with a reliable, natural air conditioning throughout the growing season.

The Ehlers vineyards and E2 Family Winery are solely owned and operated by the Ehlers family who are 6 generations of Californians, rich in history, dating back to the California gold rush. As Ehlers family vineyardists and winemakers for the last 83 years, they are proud to offer outstanding Old Vine Lodi Zin.

This HW- Herman Walter Old Vin Zinfandel is named for grandfather and father, Herman and Walter Ehlers, It's sourced from estate vineyards with vines averaging 60 years of age with many 110 years or more. The wine shows rich bramble berry fruit and is brimming with zesty cinnamon and clove spice notes. A couple of years aging in the Ehler family cellars have polished the tannins down to a silky softness that fills your mouth and caresses your palate.
