A lovely vintage 2013 from the Russian River Valley. Leave it to the masters at Antinori to blend in Cabernet to give it international class and style.
Carefully selected Chardonnay grapes are sourced from nine diverse lots, including those from family-owned vineyards located in Monterey County. The grapes are harvested in the cool night hours and brought directly to the winery where they are gently pressed and separated into different lots, determined by the fruits flavors the leaner lots are fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain their delicate aromas and bright acidity, while the richer lots are sent to age in French oak for six months to further develop flavors and complexity. All lots are brought together for final blending before bottling. This Chardonnay won "Best of Class" and received a 95 point score in the California State Fair Wine Competition. It shows aromas of green apple, citrus, honey and hints of soft, toasty oak. This medium-bodied Chardonnay offers a full, rich mouthfeel complemented by flavors of honeydew melon, lemon-lime, stone fruit and hints of spice, which lead to a long, refined finish. An outstanding value!
