Jackson Estate wines showcase their cherished vineyard estate properties located on rare, coastal California terroir of mountain tops, ridges, hillsides and raised benchland soils. This limited release allows their winemakers to emphasize the extraordinary terroir of their unique properties and craft very small lots for refined palates.
Established in 1983, the Anderson Valley AVA is in a narrow valley carved out by years of erosion from the Navarro River. As the river runs through the valley and empties into the ocean, it cuts through the mountains to allow the cold ocean wind and coastal fog to creep in.
The Wine Advocate scored this 92 points saying “Pale to medium ruby in the glass, the 2017 Jackson Estate Pinot Noir Anderson Valley, aged nine months in 32% new French oak, opens with blueberries, Cran-Apple, forest floor, Bing cherries and cranberries with a spicy core. It's light to medium-bodied, silky and intense with grainy tannins and juicy freshness on the long, spicy finish.”
Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 91 points saying “Light oak spices shade lots of fresh red-fruit flavors in this medium-bodied, generous and nicely balanced wine. It is well rounded and smooth on the palate, getting better with each sip.”
Jeb Dunnuck scored this 90 points saying “The 2017 Pinot Noir Jackson Estate Anderson Valley is another solid effort. Offering more density and depth than the Grand Reserve, it has loads of black cherry fruits, notes of Christmas spice and sassafras, medium body, and a great finish.”
