Here's an amazing find, a Cabernet from the superb 2005 vintage from an estate vineyard on the very top of Mount Veeder where it's been slowly maturing for over 10+ years. This family owned winery, with vineyards sloping down the Sonoma side is located in the new, Moon Mountain District. The vineyards are tended by Phil Coturri, a pioneer of organic and sustainable viticulture in California. His clients include Landmark Vineyards, Laurel Glen Vineyard, Amapola Creek and Harlan Estate to name a few and this wine was vinified by esteemed Napa Valley winemaker Robert Pepi Jr.
Only 200 cases of this stellar Cab were produced. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 91 points when it was released back in 2009. They said "Lush and dramatic. Shows intense flavors of black currants and cedar, wrapped into extremely fine tannins and liberally enhanced with sweet, smoky oak. Very good, but young and fresh. Best 2010–2013."
