About Krewe 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville, Napa Valley
A Cab for the ages, Krewe Magna Block is from the heart of Napa Valley and drinks like a champ. And why not the grapes were sourced from two prime vineyards right in Oakville where Napa's most prized wines are created. The Holmes vineyard lies at the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains where the alluvial fan of soil spreads out in the valley and vineyards like Far Niente, To-Kalon, and Harlan are planted. The Oakville Ranch vineyard sits on the opposite side of the Valley where late afternoon sun brings richness and intensity to the grapes. Here vineyards such as Ovid, Dalla Valle, Plumpjack and Rudd lay down their roots.
Grapes were carefully selected and and slowly vinified in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Then the wine aged in French oak barrels for 18 months and gently in the cellars for over two years to let the tannins soften and the flavors to expand. It shows intense aromas of blackberry, blueberry, black currants and dark chocolate with hints of spice and minerals. The palate is expansive and compelling with a velvety mouthfeel and rich nuanced flavors.
As you probably know wines from Oakville are some of the priciest that California offers. This wine was released at a not surprising $100 a bottle. However, we managed to procure the remaining available cases and are bringing it to you and an amazing discount. Don't miss it!
