La Crema has made its name by producing outstanding wines from the best regions in California for Burgundian varietal; Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Now they've branched out to the other stellar U.S. location for world class Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley. With estate vineyards in the Eola-Amity and Yamhill-Carlton AVA's they've been able to produce a wine that's La Crema style and quality but with the distinct fingerprint of the cool Willamette Valley. In 2014 98% of the fruit came from their estate vineyards. Grapes were fermented in open top tanks hand punched three times a day. Then it went into 25% new French oak barrel for 9 months of aging. In 2013 La Crema showed they really know how to craft an excellent Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and 2014 is being called one of the best vintages ever for Oregon so we expect the accolade to start rolling in for this wine any time now. It shows a beautiful intensity and a lively palate that delivers bright strawberry and raspberry notes combined with a savory, earthiness and rich texture. This a steal for high quality Willamette Valley Pinot.
