Longevity Wines is a boutique family-operated, urban-style winery located in the Livermore AVA. Winemaker Phil Long is the founder of Longevity Wines, He was born in Washington, DC, grew up in Southern California and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in architecture. Phil used his artistic skill to build a successful career in packaging and store display design before becoming a winemaker. He was named president of the Association of African American Vintners in January 2020 and is devoted to elevating awareness of African Americans in the wine industry and paving paths to wine careers for all minorities.
Phil’s approach to winemaking has been to continually challenge himself to make the best wines possible. This medium brick, plum colored Cabernet highlights the varietal. Ripe Cabernet shines with intense black cherry notes in this multi vineyard blend. e palate has a rustic fruit expression favoring dried cherry, cassis and pomegranate notes. The wine finishes with subtle oak notes yielding a light vanilla and cocoa finish. The soft tannins provide a lengthy enjoyable finish.
