About Louis Jadot 2019 Cote de Beaune Villages Red
For nearly 200 years we have focused our energies on promoting Burgundy and its viticultural heritage. Ever since the birth of Maison Louis Jadot, we have managed to reunite hundreds of parcels of vines, handing them down from one generation to another in order to guarantee the quality of the wines from this unique terroir. Louis Henry Denis Jadot founded Maison Louis Jadot in 1859. The negociant house expanded rapidly with a focus on quality and today is one of the most highly regarded and well-known Burgundy producers.
This village-level wine is from the heart of the Cote D'Or, carefully selected from several villages in the appellation. The bunches are all destemmed and the grapes macerate in open vats over a period of 4 weeks helping this subtle terroir to reveal itself. After fermentation the wine aged in oak barrels for 18 months adding complexity and finesse.
This is a delightful, light-bodied red Burgundy with intriguing notes of cherry, strawberry and raspberry with hints of toasted nuts, spice and minerals.
