Located in Valgatara, right in the heart of Valpolicella Classico zone, the Luigi Righetti estate has been a family run winery since 1909. Gian Maria Righetti is the fourth generation in the Righetti family to carry on the wine-making tradition. For this rich Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore all of the grapes are sourced from their Campolieti Estate vineyard.
70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 10% other indiginous grapes are fermented in stainless steel followed by malolactic fermentation inside casks containing the lees of Amarone. This process is called Ripasso and it adds depth and flavor complexity to the wine. This lovely red shows dark cherry, raisin noted with hints of bitter hazelnut and toast.
