Mark West is a winery that produces one kind of wine and one kind of wine only...Pinot Noir. Since their start in 1978 they have focused on producing the best Pinot Noir at the most affordable price and continually making better and better wine. In recent years they've taken their passion for Pinot up a notch. Inspired by the remarkable vineyards in Oregon, they've launched this Willamette Valley appellation Pinot. Using small-lot winemaking techniques to express the unique characteristics of each terroir they gently de-stem and crush the grapes when they come into the winery. Daily punch-downs and pump-overs extract flavor and color. And after a light pressing the wine goes into French oak to marry the flavors you find naturally in Pinot Noir. This wine from the extraordinary 2014 vintage is remarkable for it's Character, complexity and overall quality. It offers aromas of raspberry, cranberry notes of tea and spicy oak. On the palate it's lively and expressive with strawberry, raspberry, black tea, cola and toasty vanilla flavors beautifully balanced and lingering on the finish.
