About Mas de Boislauzon 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape, White
The celebrated estate of Mas de Boislauzon is located north of the appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape on the town Orange at the place called Boislauzon. Christine et Daniel Chaussy, the 5th generation of winemakers of this family, run the estate. Today, their children have joined them as well. The estate was certified organic in 2012. They own 11 acres of Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards spread over 15 plots all certified organic.
This wine is the rare white Chateauneuf du Pape which gets fermented in new barrels with natural yeasts. A blend of 50% Roussanne and 50% Grenache Blanc.
Jeb Dunnuck scored this 95 points saying "Always one of my favorite whites out there, the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc is equal parts Grenache Blanc and Roussanne brought up in 50% new French oak, with the balance in tank. Its vivid gold hue is followed by a gorgeous bouquet of white peach, toasted bread, white flowers, honeysuckle, and lemon oil. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, and wonderfully textured on the palate, with juicy acidity and a great finish. It's going to shine on the dinner table and should evolve for 3-5 years, although I see no need to delay gratification."
